The JPL Scout 300 Push-to-talk Trigger Switch 575-406-300 is an ergonomically designed push-to-talk headset amplifier for use where secure, mission-critical conversations are needed, such as public safety dispatch, air-traffic control, radio dispatch operations, and training simulation. The Scout 300 can be used with any JPL headset in 6-wire controller and dispatch operations, has a JPL/PLX compatible Quick Disconnect (QD) connector to a PJ-7 (2-prong plug). The Scout 300 is compatible with JPL and Poly QD Corded Headsets. The Scout 300 has a PLT QD, making it compatible with Plantronics QD headsets that dispatch centers may already be using. This is also useful because, should the customer decide to move away from their Plantronics headsets and go with a JPL Commander headset, their existing headsets can still be used during the transition. The Scout 300 includes a Push-to-Talk switch with selectable locking or momentary operation, a Fast Throw, thumb wheel transmission volume control, and left and right side belt clip-wearing styles.
